Thus, a character must study the technique once for every power type he or she wishes to use it with. Additionally, if there are multiple levels of a CT, having a lower level in one power type does not allow you to get a higher level in a different power type, unless the power type you're getting the higher level technique for also has the lower level technique.

In the technique descriptions, you will see a term called "TechPL". This refers to the level of whichever type you choose to apply the technique to. Please note that certain generic techniques may restrict which power types it may be applied to.
